GRADING OF WALKS

You will notice that there are changes to the grading of walks in the programmes from 1 May 2004. This is in response to a discussion at a recent Walk Leaders meeting as to whether walks should be graded by pace or by terrain. To satisfy both camps your committee recommend the following: -

                Pace. Three grades only, e.g.

                B=Brisk,   M=Moderate,   L=Leisurely.

Terrain. Indicated in lower case, e.g.

                a = average

                f =  flat

                h = hilly,  hh =  very hilly or steep hill

                s = stiles (more than a few)  ss = (lots)
